Role Summary
We are looking for a high-ownership Category Planning & Growth professional who will drive category performance through data-led planning, sharp pricing, and strong merchandising execution. The role sits at the intersection of category strategy, analytics, and cross-functional execution, and is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, fixing under-indexed areas, and working with multiple teams to deliver measurable outcomes
.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, working with data, and influencing decisions across category, supply chain, marketing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Planning & Performance Ownership
- Own end-to-end category performance including GMV, margins, availability, and growth metrics.
- Build weekly and monthly category plans with clear targets and execution priorities.
- Track SKU-level and sub-category performance to identify over- and under-indexed areas.
2. Pricing & Commercial Levers
- Own category pricing strategy including price ladders, KVIs, and margin guardrails.
- Run competitive benchmarking vs relevant online and offline competitors.
- Identify price elasticity and recommend actions to improve conversion or margin.
3. Merchandising & Assortment
- Oversee category merchandising across platforms (app/store), ensuring the right products are surfaced at the right time.
- Identify assortment gaps and long-tail inefficiencies; work with category managers to rationalize or expand ranges.
- Support seasonal, festive, and thematic merchandising initiatives.
4. Growth Opportunity Identification
- Use data to identify growth pocketsby customer cohort, geography, price band, or use-case.
- Diagnose why certain SKUs or sub-categories are underperforming (pricing, placement, availability, awareness).
- Translate insights into clear growth plans with owners, timelines, and expected impact.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Category, Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, and Tech teams to execute category plans.
- Align demand forecasts, inventory planning, and promotions to category goals.
- Act as the single point of coordination for category-level initiatives.
6. Analytics & Reporting
- Build and own dashboards tracking category KPIs.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear, structured manner.
- Continuously improve decision-making frameworks using data.

- 25 years of experience in Category Management, Business Analytics, Pricing, or Planning (e-commerce, retail, FMCG, q-commerce preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in Excel/Sheets; ability to work with large datasets.
- Solid understanding of pricing, margins, promotions, and category economics.
- Ability to structure problems and convert insights in to action.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and driving alignment.
