About The Role
We are looking for a Category Manager to lead and scale key categories across Xoxoday's global rewards marketplace. This role will be responsible for driving category growth, supplier partnerships, commercial performance, catalog expansion, and customer experience across categories including Flights, Hotels, E-SIMs, Experiences, Sports & Events, Gift Vouchers, and emerging lifestyle offerings.
The role requires working closely with global suppliers, aggregators, airlines, hotel partners, telecom providers, experience operators, banks, enterprise clients, and internal product, engineering, operations, and growth teams to build category leadership across markets including India, Indonesia, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and other strategic geographies.
This is a highly entrepreneurial role requiring strong business ownership, commercial acumen, category management expertise, and the ability to drive growth in a fast-paced global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Growth
- Own end-to-end performance of assigned categories including GMV, Revenue, Margin, Assortment, and Customer Adoption.
- Develop and execute category growth strategies across multiple geographies.
- Identify new market opportunities, customer demand trends, and emerging categories.
- Launch and scale new products, suppliers, and category offerings.
- Build annual and quarterly category roadmaps aligned with business goals.
Supplier Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
- Build and manage relationships with airlines, hotel chains, travel aggregators, telecom operators, experience providers, sports ticketing platforms, and gift card partners.
- Drive supplier onboarding including commercial negotiations, contracting, compliance, catalog setup, and operational readiness.
- Conduct regular business reviews with partners to drive growth and improve performance.
- Negotiate commercials, margins, incentives, and exclusive partnerships.
- Expand supplier coverage across strategic global markets.
Commercial Performance & Revenue Management
- Own category P&L and achievement of revenue and margin targets.
- Monitor category performance and identify opportunities for growth and profitability improvement.
- Drive pricing, bundling, merchandising, and promotional strategies.
- Analyze competitor offerings and market benchmarks.
- Improve category economics through supplier optimization and commercial negotiations.
Marketplace Expansion & Catalog Excellence
- Expand category assortment and supplier coverage across global markets.
- Ensure high-quality catalog content including product descriptions, pricing, images, and redemption information.
- Work with suppliers to maintain accurate inventory, availability, and customer experience standards.
- Drive catalog standardization and marketplace optimization initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams on integrations, automation, and category enhancements.
- Work closely with Operations teams to ensure seamless fulfillment and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Growth, Marketing, and Sales teams to drive category adoption and customer engagement.
- Support banking, fintech, and enterprise client requirements through category-led solutions.
Analytics & Performance Management
- Track category KPIs, customer behavior, supplier performance, redemption trends, and commercial outcomes.
- Create dashboards and performance reports for leadership reviews.
- Generate actionable insights to improve growth, profitability, and customer engagement.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Category Management, Partnerships, Marketplace Businesses, Loyalty Programs, Travel, Hospitality, or Digital Commerce.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business metrics and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Strong project management and execution skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- High ownership mindset with a focus on business growth and operational excellence.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–6 years of experience in Category Management, Partnerships, Business Development, Marketplace Operations, Travel, Loyalty, Fintech, E-commerce, or related industries.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, and category growth initiatives.
- Exposure to categories such as Travel, Hospitality, Gift Cards, Experiences, Telecom, Sports, Entertainment, or Lifestyle is preferred.
- Experience working across multiple international markets is an advantage.
- Prior experience in rewards, loyalty, fintech, travel-tech, e-commerce, or marketplace businesses is highly desirable.
