Note: This is a service operations role. You will manage a network of on-ground female two-wheeler training partners — sourcing them, activating them, tracking their productivity, and growing their earnings. If your experience is in product assortment, content categories, merchandise buying, or course management, this role is not a match.
About Aatm Nirbhar
Aatm Nirbhar Learning is building India's largest women-led mobility ecosystem. We train women to ride two-wheelers and connect them to livelihood opportunities across 20+ cities. Our network of female training partners — women who teach other women to ride — is the core of what we do.
The Role
We are looking for a Category Manager to own the training partner network end-to-end — across our existing cities and as we expand into new ones. This is a full-ownership role — you will be the most senior person running this on the ground.
That means building supply from scratch in new locations, activating and managing training partners at scale, driving their productivity and earnings, and opening up new revenue streams for both training partners and the company through cross-selling of partner products like vehicles, helmets, and insurance.
This is not a role where you inherit a running operation and maintain it. We are growing fast and need someone who has built something — expanded into a new city, launched a new supply vertical, or designed and implemented a programme that didn't exist before.
What You Will Own
1. Supply Growth & City Expansion
- Map supply-demand gaps across existing and new locations
- Build the training partner pipeline from scratch in new cities — sourcing, outreach, referrals, inbound
- Own the full onboarding funnel: documentation, app setup, orientation, and first session activation
- Drive activation rates; minimise drop-offs between sign-up and first training session
- Identify what works in existing cities and replicate it systematically in new ones
2. Training & Quality
- Run structured onboarding and periodic refresher sessions for training partners
- Coach on customer handling, professional conduct, and service quality
- Enforce app hygiene, uniform standards, and operational SOPs
- Identify underperformance early and intervene before it affects service quality
3. Performance & Operations
- Own cluster-level metrics daily — productivity, utilisation, request fulfilment, session quality
- Reduce supply-side losses: unfulfilled demand, low availability, cancellations
- Resolve partner escalations and ground-level issues with speed and full ownership
- Drive consistent app adoption across the partner base
4. Partner & Company Revenue Growth
- Identify and activate cross-sell opportunities for training partners — two-wheelers, helmets, insurance, financing — through tie-ups with partner brands
- Structure commission and incentive programmes that make cross-selling worthwhile for training partners
- Train partners on how to introduce and sell partner products to their students
- Track attach rates, cross-sell revenue, and partner earning uplift as live metrics
- Propose and pilot new revenue streams; bring ideas from the ground to leadership
5. Retention & Engagement
- Build trust-based relationships with training partners to reduce churn
- Design and execute incentive structures, referral programmes, and recognition initiatives tied to performance
- Gather ground-level feedback and channel it to product and leadership
- Work with marketing to tell partner stories and strengthen network identity
Metrics You Will Own
- Activation Rate — % of onboarded training partners completing first session within target window
- Active Supply — number of productive training partners in the cluster week-on-week
- Utilisation Rate — training sessions delivered vs. partner availability
- Request Loss Rate — unfulfilled demand as % of total demand
- Retention Rate — month-on-month active partner retention
- Partner Productivity — training sessions per active training partner per month
- Referral Volume — new training partners sourced through existing partner network
- Cross-Sell Attach Rate — % of training sessions resulting in a partner product referral or sale
- Partner Earnings Growth — month-on-month increase in average training partner income
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days
- Request loss rate drops materially from baseline
- Activation rate for new onboarding cohorts consistently above 70%
- Active supply grows in line with demand in existing cities
- At least one new city or location operationalised with active supply
- First cross-sell or partner revenue initiative live and being tracked
- Partner churn is low and referral pipeline is self-sustaining
Who We Are Looking For
Background
- 1–4 years in category management, city ops, supply ops, or partner operations at a service or gig platform
- Has built or expanded something — launched a new city, grown a supply base from low base, or designed and implemented a new programme independently
- Has taken initiatives beyond their assigned scope — proposed something, owned it, and seen it through
- Hands-on experience managing a distributed on-ground workforce — service professionals, gig workers, or field agents
- Backgrounds from Urban Company, YesMadam, Swiggy, Zomato, Rapido, Porter, Dunzo, Zepto, Blinkit (rider/partner ops roles, not product category roles) or similar platforms strongly preferred
- Exposure to cross-sell programmes, partner commission structures, or revenue initiatives is a strong plus
- Strong BDA or BDE profiles with demonstrated metrics ownership are welcome
How You Think and Work
- Thinks like a category owner — tracks supply, quality, and revenue as one interconnected system
- Gets things done on the ground, not just on slides
- Has proposed and implemented at least one thing that wasn't asked of them
- Builds trust with field partners; handles escalations calmly and with ownership
- Comfortable with Excel / Google Sheets for daily tracking and reporting
- Fluent in Hindi (must); working knowledge of English
- Open to travel within and across cities
Good to Have
- Experience building supply in a new city or geography
- Exposure to partner earning or cross-sell programmes
- Experience working with women service partners / gig workers
- Track record of improving a specific ops metric — activation rate, churn, utilisation — within a short tenure
Why Join Us
- Full ownership, early. You are the most senior person on the ground. Decisions you make on Monday show up in the numbers by Friday.
- Build, don't maintain. New cities, new supply pipelines, new revenue programmes — the kind of experience that takes years to get in a larger organisation.
- Work that means something. The metrics you own — earnings, activation, retention — translate directly into real income for real women.
- Part of the core team. You will work directly with the founder, with full visibility into how the business is run and where it is going.
- Room to grow. The person who builds this well becomes the blueprint for how we scale it everywhere.
