As Category Manager, Motorola India, you will own the end-to-end success of the smartphone portfolio across strategy, PL, product lifecycle and market execution. Reporting to the Managing Director, Motorola India, you will serve as the single point of accountability for franchise growth, acting as the bridge between Global Product Portfolio, Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and channel partners to maximize revenue, profitability and market share.

As Category Manager, Motorola India, you will own the end-to-end success of the smartphone portfolio across strategy, PL, product lifecycle and market execution. Reporting to the Managing Director, Motorola India, you will serve as the single point of accountability for franchise growth, acting as the bridge between Global Product Portfolio, Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and channel partners to maximize revenue, profitability and market share.
Strategy PL Ownership
- Own franchise-level PL, revenue, margin, market share and business performance.
- Define category strategy, growth priorities and investment choices aligned to Motorola India's long-term ambitions.
- Define the right product at the right price point for India – work closely with the Global Product team to define the same and ensure the same is coming to India at the right time to market
- Drive short-term and long-term business planning to deliver volume, profitability and premiumization goals.
- Build and lead a high-performing category organization with clear franchise ownership and accountability.
- Own the complete product lifecycle from portfolio planning and launch to in-market management, transition and end-of-life.
- Partner with Global Product Portfolio teams to shape India product strategy, close portfolio gaps and localize market requirements.
- Drive portfolio optimization, lifecycle decisions and transition planning to maximize sell-through and profitability.
- Maintain holistic visibility of portfolio health, inventory, pricing, competitive positioning and business performance.
- Lead demand planning and forecast alignment with Sales, Partners, Supply Chain, Sales Operations Planning, Finance and Global teams.
- Own commercial readiness for all launches, including pricing, channel strategy, inventory, affordability programs and go-to-market execution.
- Drive launch governance, post-launch reviews and rapid course correction to ensure business targets are achieved.
- Ensure disciplined investment deployment while maximizing sell-in, sell-out and return on investment.
- Own category insights across consumers, competitors, channels and market trends.
- Translate market intelligence into portfolio, pricing, positioning and go-to-market decisions.
- Anticipate competitive moves and lead response strategies to protect and grow market share.
- Partner with Marketing to deliver differentiated consumer propositions and consistent brand experience across channels.
- Act as the business owner and decision integrator across Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Service and external partners.
- Drive alignment and execution across stakeholders, balancing growth, profitability, inventory and customer experience.
- Influence regional and global stakeholders to secure resources, products and strategic support for India.
- Build strong partner relationships to enhance category performance, distribution effectiveness and launch quality.
- Define and track key business metrics including revenue, market share, margin, inventory health, sell-in, sell-out and launch success.
- Lead regular business reviews and drive corrective actions against performance gaps.
- Leverage analytics and scenario planning to improve forecast accuracy, portfolio productivity and investment effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of ownership, speed, accountability and excellence in execution.
