The Category Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall performance of a specific category within an organization. They are responsible for managing a team, developing and executing category plans, and driving growth and profitability within the assigned category. The Category Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and product development, to ensure alignment and achievement of business objectives.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Creating and developing a long-term plan and strategy for the development of the category and executing them with precision.
- Develop strong working relationships with Buyer & Seller teams.
- P&L owner for the group of Category managed.
- Customer management: Building, Nurturing & Managing key customer relationships and developing business relationship value with Customers.
- Strong in analytics, data-driven experimentation, and problem-solving.
- Assertive with a collaborative attitude and experience in managing a team of mid tosenior-level people.
- Experience and knowledge of assortment in multiple geographies is an added advantage.
- Category Analytics: Proficient in analytics to identify growth areas and execute.
- Discovering profitable suppliers & buyers and initiating business and organization partnerships.
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to deliver top-line,bottom-line, and customer experience KRAs.

- Expertise in category management.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations and processes.
- Analytical and critical thinker.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skill.
Work Experience
- 5+ years of work experience & Deep industry knowledge of B2B Industries.
- Astute business sense and analytical ability with great articulation skills.
- Prior operations and project/vendor-management experience
Knowledge/ Skills
- High level of ownership, willingness to set up things from scratch, high emotional intelligence.
- Superior research skills and resourcefulness to draw logical conclusions with often limited information.
- Knowledge/work experience in plastic, and paper recycling.
- Excellent planning skills, analytical ability, and lateral thinking ability
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication & Good people management skills.
