Position Overview
As a Category Manager, you'll be the strategic owner of product categories — from inherited disease screening (DGx) to pharmacogenomics (PGx) — responsible for maximizing their commercial success in the market. You'll blend data-driven analysis with market insight, manage product health, and work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and clinical teams to drive growth and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute category strategies for assigned genomic/diagnostic product lines aligned with overall business goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify opportunities and risks.
- Set category KPIs and monitor performance metrics such as revenue, margin, and adoption rates.
- Portfolio Management
- Own product positioning, pricing, and life-cycle management for your categories.
- Work with clinical experts and product teams to refine product offerings based on evidence, feedback, and outcomes.
- Support launches of new tests and variants in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Go-to-Market & Commercial Enablement
- Partner with marketing to develop compelling value propositions, promotional campaigns, and educational content for clinicians, labs, and partners.
- Equip sales teams with category insights, talking points, and competitive intelligence.
- Support key account efforts with relevant data, case studies, and market analysis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with R&D, operations, and analytics teams to ensure product availability, quality, and reporting standards.
- Provide insights to inform technology, data, and service enhancements based on field feedback.
- Champion category needs in internal planning and prioritization forums.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with clinical partners, institutional customers, and channel partners to understand needs and build category-specific solutions.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and forums to represent Identifi and gather market intelligence.
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6+ years in category, product, or commercial roles — ideally in diagnostics, healthcare, med-tech, or biotech sectors.
- Deep understanding of healthcare markets, clinical workflows, and product commercialization.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Additional Information
- This position will require travel for conferences, CMEs, RTMs, and other events.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours may be required to support business operations.
