Job Description: Category Manager Online Business (Indian Sweets)

Position Overview The Category Manager will lead the end-to-end strategy, execution, and profitability of the Gulab Jamun (1 Kg pack) category across e-commerce, quick commerce, B2B supply, and gifting platforms. This role is responsible for balancing high-volume retail anchors with high-margin gifting niches, embedding sustainability into packaging, and driving premiumization to maximize stakeholder value.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute category growth strategies across Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, Zepto, Blinkit, Hyperpure, MyFlowerTree, Bloomsvilla.

Manage SKU portfolio: standard tins, festive hampers, eco-friendly premium packs.

Drive online promotions, festive campaigns, and bundle offers to boost demand.

Build and monitor dashboards for volumes, margins, repeat purchase rates, and SKU share.

Expand B2B partnerships with catering chains, banquets, and institutional buyers.

Launch premium SKUs and embed ESG storytelling into brand campaigns.

Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure execution excellence. Qualifications

58 years of experience in Category Management, FMCG, Food E-Comme or Quick Commerce.

Proven success in managing online promotions for Indian sweets (ideally Gulab Jamun).

Strong analytical skills: ability to build profitability matrices, dashboards, and growth models.

Experience in premiumization, gifting categories, and sustainability initiatives preferred.

MBA or equivalent degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.

Analytical Rigor: Skilled in dashboards, KPIs, and profitability frameworks.

Stakeholder Management:

Strong communication with investors, partners, and cross-functional teams

Execution Discipline: Driving campaigns, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring timely delivery.

Performance Metrics

Monthly volume growth: Achieve 120,000 units/month.

Margin uplift: +57% through premiumization and quick commerce.

Repeat purchase rate: 25% within 60 days.

Eco-friendly SKU share: 15% of total sales.

Premium SKU contribution: 20% of gifting segment revenue.
