Fairdeal.Market is a rapidly growing B2B quick commerce company enabling businesses to access a wide range of products with delivery in as little as 60 minutes. As we scale across categories and supply chain operations, we are building a strong category and analytics function focused on improving assortment, pricing, inventory efficiency, and customer growth.

Role Overview

We are looking for a data-driven and business-oriented Category Analyst to support category growth and performance across FMCG and grocery segments. This role will work closely with Category Managers to drive assortment planning, pricing analysis, inventory tracking, and business performance insights.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, understanding of FMCG or quick commerce business dynamics, and the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Performance & Business Analysis:
  • Analyze category-level sales, GMV, margins, and product performance trends
  • Track key business metrics including AOV, repeat orders, fill rate, and contribution margins
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business reports for category reviews
  • Identify growth opportunities and performance gaps through data analysis
  • Assortment & Pricing Analysis:
  • Support category managers in assortment planning and product performance tracking
  • Analyze pricing trends, competitor benchmarking, and customer demand patterns
  • Monitor KVI and non-KVI product performance across categories
  • Recommend assortment optimization based on sales and inventory insights
  • Inventory & Supply Coordination:
  • Track inventory health, stock availability, and fill rates across dark stores
  • Identify slow-moving, fast-moving, and aging inventory trends
  • Support inventory planning to minimize stockouts and inventory expiry
  • Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams for inventory-related insights
  • Vendor & Brand Performance Tracking:
  • Monitor brand-wise and supplier-wise performance metrics
  • Analyze procurement trends, margin impact, and promotional effectiveness
  • Support category teams with data for vendor negotiations and business reviews
  • Customer & Market Insights:
  • Analyze customer buying behavior, retention trends, and repeat purchase patterns
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and category movement in quick commerce
  • Translate customer and market insights into actionable recommendations
  • Reporting & Process Excellence:
  • Maintain category dashboards, trackers, and MIS reports with high accuracy
  • Automate and improve reporting processes wherever possible
  • Ensure data consistency and timely reporting for business reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Commerce, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in category analysis, business analytics, merchandising, or FMCG analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of FMCG, retail, e-commerce, or quick commerce business models
  • Hands-on experience with Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools
  • Ability to work with large datasets and derive business insights
  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Good To Have

  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools
  • Understanding of inventory and supply chain metrics
  • Exposure to category management or merchandising functions
  • Experience in startup, B2B, or quick commerce environment
