About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Catastrophe Modeling Manager with at least 5 years of hands-on experience and deep expertise in the AIR/Verisk catastrophe modeling platform. This is not a junior role we need someone who can independently run end-to-end workflows involving exposure conversion and validation, AIR modeling, and applying complex reinsurance terms accurately.
Candidates must have hands-on experience converting RMS EDM exposure databases into AIR CEDE databases, including building/attaching CEDE financials, and must have a strong command over SQL to support large-scale exposure QA, reconciliation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run catastrophe models using the AIR/Verisk platform across relevant perils (wind, quake, flood, convective storm, wildfire, etc.).
- Deliver account and portfolio-level outputs such as AAL, OEP/AEP, event loss tables, exceedance probability curves, and scenario analyses.
- Apply complex reinsurance structures accurately to modeled outputs, including:
- Per-occurrence and aggregate treaties
- Quota share / surplus share
- Multi-layer programs
- Inuring structures
- Reinstatements and other advanced treaty terms
- Convert exposures from RMS EDM AIR CEDE database structures (hands-on responsibility).
- Build and attach AIR CEDE financials, ensuring correct implementation of:
- TIV splits and coverage mapping
- Deductibles, limits, sublimits
- Policy conditions and coverage structures (including BI where applicable)
- Perform thorough QA and reconciliation of exposure data and model outputs to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
- Use SQL to query, validate, join, and analyze large datasets for exposure quality checks and conversion workflows.
- Document assumptions, settings, and outputs clearly for internal review and stakeholder communication.
- Support underwriting and leadership with time-sensitive modeling requests and ad-hoc analyses.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience Requirement: Minimum 5+ years of catastrophe modeling / exposure analytics experience.
- Modeling Platform: Strong hands-on experience with AIR/Verisk (mandatory).
- Reinsurance: Must have hands-on experience applying complex reinsurance terms (not theoretical).
- Exposure Conversion: Must have hands-on experience converting RMS EDM exposures into AIR CEDE databases, including building/attaching CEDE financials.
- Technical Skills: Strong command over SQL (must be able to work independently).
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and comfort working with large datasets.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Compensation:
- Max salary for this role:3235 LPA (based on experience and technical depth)
