About the Role

At Xceedance, the Manager – Catastrophe Modeling & Exposure Management will play a critical role in delivering high-quality catastrophe risk analytics and exposure management solutions to global insurance and reinsurance clients. This role blends deep technical expertise with client engagement, supporting underwriting, portfolio optimization, and strategic risk decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Catastrophe Modeling Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end catastrophe modeling assignments for global P&C insurance/reinsurance clients
  • Execute portfolio roll-ups, loss analysis (AAL, PML), and event-based scenario testing using RMS, AIR (Verisk), and CoreLogic models
  • Evaluate and interpret model outputs to generate actionable business insights for clients
  • Support model view development, sensitivity testing, and validation exercises

Exposure Management & Portfolio Analytics

  • Analyze portfolio exposure across regions and perils (US Wind, EQ, Flood, etc.)
  • Monitor accumulations, concentration risks, and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Partner with client underwriting teams to support risk selection and pricing decisions
  • Develop dashboards and periodic exposure reports for clients and internal leadership

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key point of contact for client delivery, ensuring timelines and expectations are met
  • Translate complex modeling outputs into clear, business-driven insights
  • Collaborate with global teams across actuarial, underwriting, and analytics functions
  • Support business development initiatives, including solutioning and proposals

Data & Process Excellence

  • Ensure data quality, exposure cleansing, and validation prior to model runs
  • Drive automation and efficiency in modeling workflows using tools like SQL, Python, or VBA
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization across engagements

Model Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure compliance with client-specific and internal model governance frameworks
  • Support model documentation, audit readiness, and validation requirements
  • Stay updated on vendor model releases, industry trends, and emerging risks

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Mentor and manage a team of analysts/modelers, ensuring high-quality delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Drive performance, engagement, and capability development within the team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in catastrophe modeling/exposure management (preferably in consulting/KPO environment)
  • Hands-on expertise in RMS, AIR (Verisk), and/or CoreLogic platforms
  • Strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance value chain and risk concepts
  • Experience working with global clients (US/UK markets preferred)

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data handling and automation
  • Exposure to visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) is an advantage
