Job Description

Qualifications: ➢ High School Diploma or I.T.I / Technical / Vocational Certificate in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field. Experience: ➢ 5 years of experience operating casting machines in a manufacturing or foundry environment.

 Technical Skills: • Knowledge of ductile iron pipe casting processes and Centrifugal Casting Machine (CCM) operation. • Basic understanding of casting defects, process controls, and quality inspection methods. • Ability to use measuring and inspection tools to verify product quality. Behavioral Competencies: • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets. • Strong commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping, and HSE requirements. • Demonstrates accountability, reliability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Systems / Digital Skills: • Basic knowledge of machine control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI) operation. • Basic computer skills for recording production data and accessing work instructions and operating procedures.

Key accountabilities: ➢ Set up, operate, and monitor casting machines to produce D.I. pipes in accordance with production specifications and operating procedures. ➢ Ensure the correct type and quantity of raw materials are available and used for the casting process. ➢ Verify proper alignment of the mold, canal, core loader, and extractor, and confirm machine settings using the required pre-start checklist. ➢ Monitor process parameters such as temperature, water pressure, air pressure, and cycle time, adjusting as required to maintain product quality and process stability. ➢ Inspect finished castings for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and casting defects, and report any non-conformities to the Shift Foreman. ➢ Record production data, including Ladle / batch numbers, production time, and output quantities. ➢ Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or safety hazards promptly to the Shift Foreman or Maintenance team. ➢ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant housekeeping standards and HSE requirements.
