Carpentry Trainer

Position Summary

Train, assess, and upskill site carpenters for deployment across SKV's office interior fit-out projects in NCR. Responsible for building a modular carpentry curriculum, running hands-on training batches, and ensuring deployed workers meet SKV's finish-quality standards on client sites.

A. Training & Curriculum

1. Develop modular training curriculum covering all carpentry trades relevant to office interiors — from basic joinery to advanced finishing

2. Conduct classroom + hands-on training batches at the training facility, Gurgaon. Travel to other facilities as per company's requirement

3. Assess trainees at module completion — practical skill tests, quality benchmarks, pass/fail decisions

4. Maintain training records — attendance, assessment scores, certification status — on shared trackers

B. Office Furniture Assembly

5. System/modular furniture assembly — workstations, cubicles, desk clusters (Inhouse factory products, Featherlite, Godrej, Haworth-type systems)

6. Storage units — pedestals, filing cabinets, lockers, overhead storage, compactors

7. Conference & meeting room furniture — large tables, credenzas, AV unit integration

8. Soft seating & lounge furniture — assembly, leg fitting, upholstery-frame coordination

9. Reception & front-office fixtures — reception desks, display units, signage backings

10. Hardware fitting — soft-close hinges, drawer channels/slides, cam locks, handles, push-to-open mechanisms

C. Site Carpentry — Office Construction & Fit-Out

11. Partition & cabin framing — wooden/metal stud framework for glass and gypsum partitions, manager cabins, director rooms

12. Door & frame installation — flush doors, veneer doors, glass-fitted doors, aluminum-section doors; frame fixing, alignment, lock mortising

13. Wall paneling & cladding — veneer panels, laminate cladding, PVC panels, acoustic panels, fabric-wrapped panels

14. False ceiling framing — wooden grid/batten framework for gypsum, mineral fibre, and metal-tile ceilings

15. Flooring support — raised access flooring framework, wooden flooring underlayment, skirting/beading installation

16. Custom joinery & millwork — pantry counters, coffee-point cabinetry, shoe racks, locker room fittings, planter boxes

17. Edge banding & lamination — manual and portable-machine edge banding, HPL/compact laminate cutting and fixing

18. Window & blinds framing — curtain pelmet boxes, roller-blind brackets, window-frame casing

D. Material & Site Management

19. Site measurement & marking — read architectural/shop drawings, take field measurements, prepare cutting lists

20. Material optimization — plan cutting layouts (plywood, MDF, particle board) to minimize waste; maintain material consumption logs

21. Tool & equipment upkeep — ensure power tools (routers, jigsaws, planers, sanders, drills) and hand tools are maintained and safe

22. Quality inspection — check finish levels (flush surfaces, gap tolerance, edge smoothness, alignment) before client handover

E. Safety & Compliance

23. Enforce workshop & site safety — PPE usage, dust extraction, electrical safety for power tools

24. Maintain housekeeping standards at training facility and on deployment sites

25. Ensure compliance with SKV site SOPs and client-specific safety requirements

F. Worker Development & Deployment Support

26. Identify skill gaps in recruited carpenters and design remedial training

27. Grade workers by proficiency (helper / semi-skilled / skilled / specialist) to inform deployment decisions and pay bands

28. Support site supervisors during initial deployments — shadow visits, on-site correction, quality audits

29. Provide feedback loop to the program team on workforce readiness, curriculum gaps, and tooling needs

Field

Requirement

Experience

8–12 years in commercial/office interior carpentry; 2+ years in a training or supervisory role

Trades

Must: furniture assembly, partitions, doors, paneling. Good-to-have: false ceiling, custom joinery

Drawing Literacy

Ability to read shop drawings and architectural sections

Language

Hindi (fluent); English (basic reading for spec sheets)

Location

Based in Gurgaon; willing to visit NCR deployment sites
