Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Career Counselor role based in Bengaluru, with a specific focus on selling and supporting IIT programs. The Career Counselor will guide students and parents in understanding IIT courses, admission pathways, and long-term career prospects, while recommending suitable programs based on individual goals and academic profiles. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, handling inquiries, explaining program features and fee structures, and following up with prospective students to support enrollment decisions. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of interactions, coordinating with academic and sales teams, participating in seminars or workshops, and contributing to outreach initiatives in schools and coaching centers. The counselor is expected to meet defined targets ethically, provide clear information, and ensure a supportive, non-judgmental experience for all learners.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Career Counseling and Student Counseling, with the ability to guide learners and families on IIT pathways and related academic options.
- Experience or knowledge in Career Development and Career Management to help students plan long-term educational and professional trajectories.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written communication, active listening, and the ability to explain complex information simply.
- Proven experience in promoting or selling IIT programs, test-prep courses, or similar educational offerings, with a consultative and ethical approach.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage multiple inquiries, and maintain accurate documentation and follow-up records.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Business, or a related field; formal counseling certification is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the Indian education system, IIT entrance processes (JEE Main/Advanced), and common student concerns around competitive exams.
- Comfort working with digital tools and CRM systems to track leads, sessions, and enrollments.
- Empathetic, patient, and solution-oriented mindset, with a commitment to maintaining a non-discriminatory and inclusive counseling environment.
