Who You'll Work With

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.

In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.

When you join us, you will have:

  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World-class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.

Your Impact

As a Capabilities & Insights Analytics Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering market intelligence analytics as a service while building deep expertise in Healthcare Insights (HI) analytics, methodologies, and underlying data concepts.

You will join our Client Capabilities Network in the Gurugram office as part of the HI solution delivery team within the Social, Healthcare, and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice.

In this role, you will become fluent in upstream data models and downstream visualization tools critical to producing high-quality outputs, while working in a team focused on driving improvements through automation and agentification (using GenAI) to increase efficiency and accelerate transition to steady state. At the same time, you will support and be accountable for client engagements, requiring strong project management and client communication skills as you collaborate with clients, consultants, and practice leadership.

You will engage with frontline client teams across private equity, payer, provider, and public sector organizations, deploying HI proprietary assets after relevant training. The analytical assets you will deliver include market intelligence dashboards for analyzing historical and future market landscapes, payer financial reports to identify P&L opportunities, and claims-based analytics to understand utilization trends and benchmark costs by procedure, along with healthcare profit pool analyses. In practice, this includes working with private equity clients using market sizing, growth driver, and market hot-spotting tools to identify attractive markets for expansion, as well as supporting employer-based, individual, and government-sponsored payer clients with solutions across financial modeling, pricing and product design, and acquisition and retention.

Over time, you will develop expertise in at least one healthcare vertical—payer, provider, or private equity—and contribute to building next-generation tools using advanced analytics, strengthening Healthcare Insights capabilities. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for scaling and innovating within specific assets or solutions.

As part of a highly entrepreneurial team, you will continuously identify opportunities for improvement, including collaborating with the HI Leader to enhance the end-to-end solution delivery chain, introducing QA tools and processes, increasing automation, and recommending user-centric product enhancements aligned with the HI roadmap and evolving client needs.

The Healthcare Insights (HI) team leverages healthcare data (payer, provider, and third-party data) and analytics to address some of the most pressing questions facing healthcare clients today, such as: How do we manage the cost of care while improving quality, How do we remain competitive in an evolving healthcare landscape, and Who are the most vulnerable patients, and what interventions can better support them

Our capabilities are foundational to multiple high-profile initiatives and central to the SHaPE practice in delivering organization-wide transformation programs for payers (public and private) and providers. Over the past four years, the practice has expanded to over 2,000 colleagues globally, bringing together healthcare experts, physicians, statisticians, analysts, engineers, and data scientists.

McKinsey's SHaPE fosters innovation through advanced analytics, user-centered design, predictive forecasting, and new product development. We are a community of entrepreneurs within McKinsey, using technology to drive meaningful client impact. Through self-service analytics, software-as-a-service solutions, strategic acquisitions, and a strong ecosystem of alliances, we are redefining what it means to work with McKinsey.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics (preferably healthcare analytics) and/or business intelligence
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel, with demonstrated experience working with large datasets and applying data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques
  • Familiarity with Spark, Tableau/Power BI, R, and Python is a plus
  • Understanding of process automation and GenAI-driven agentic solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into structured, actionable insights
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous learning and team development
  • Client service orientation and operational rigor, with the ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
