Job Description

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The BitGenome Institute of Technology (BGIT) is a flagship academic and research initiative under UniversIQ Innovations Pvt. Ltd., India. BGIT operates as a virtual teaching, training and research institute, offering hands-on, mentor-guided programs that integrate life sciences with computational biology, scientific thinking, and translational applications.

Co-founded by Subhajit Dutta (Academic Director, BGIT), Faculty of Science, University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), the BGIT is structured into two interdisciplinary divisions: Division of Biological Sciences (DBS), and Division of Software Engineering (DSE), which aims to cultivate a new generation of problem-solvers capable of integrating computational technologies with biological discovery and applied engineering.

The Division of Biological Sciences is led by Prof. Asim K. Duttaroy (Dean, DBS-BGIT), Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (Norway), and supported by scientists from India, Europe, USA, Canada, and China to create a global, research-driven learning ecosystem.

The BitGenome Institute of Technology (BGIT) invites applications from postdoctoral fellows, senior bioinformaticians, data scientists, and early-career faculty to join our international mentorship network in computational life sciences.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Project Supervisors mentor students through flexible 1220 week online computational research projects, with project duration determined by project complexity and supervisor preference. Supervisors typically contribute 1-3 hours per week, depending on the stage of the project. Projects run year-round, and supervisors may take on more than one project annually based on their availability.
