Job Description

Job content:

  • Join the Punch Powertrain engineering team supporting EV, CVT, DCT, and Hybrid powertrain programs in India.
  • Perform drivability calibration including launch, creep, shift quality, torque coordination, tip-in/tip-out, and drive mode behavior.
  • Calibrate and tune transmission control strategies for CVT, DCT, EV, and Hybrid powertrains.
  • Execute testing on dynamometers, test benches, and vehicles (test tracks and public roads).
  • Analyze test data, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis and closure.
  • Support vehicle integration, demo builds, and calibration events.
  • Collaborate closely with system, software, and hardware teams.
  • Work with other calibration engineers to improve calibration and testing frameworks.
  • Document test results, calibration changes, and analysis in engineering reports.
  • Actively participate in training and technical skill development programs.

Your profile:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in transmission or electrified powertrain calibration.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle drivability fundamentals and powertrain control systems.
  • Prior experience with CVT shift strategy or DCT clutch control calibration is highly preferred.
  • Experience using automotive calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, or similar.
  • Good understanding of vehicle networks (CAN, diagnostics, signals).
  • Exposure to OEM / Tier-1 automotive development environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PERL, Java, or CAPL is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and debug software and hardware issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and passion for learning.
  • Excellent team player with a desire to grow self, team, and organization.
  • Eager to learn, adapt, and grow within the automotive software engineering field.
