Job content:
- Join the Punch Powertrain engineering team supporting EV, CVT, DCT, and Hybrid powertrain programs in India.
- Perform drivability calibration including launch, creep, shift quality, torque coordination, tip-in/tip-out, and drive mode behavior.
- Calibrate and tune transmission control strategies for CVT, DCT, EV, and Hybrid powertrains.
- Execute testing on dynamometers, test benches, and vehicles (test tracks and public roads).
- Analyze test data, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis and closure.
- Support vehicle integration, demo builds, and calibration events.
- Collaborate closely with system, software, and hardware teams.
- Work with other calibration engineers to improve calibration and testing frameworks.
- Document test results, calibration changes, and analysis in engineering reports.
- Actively participate in training and technical skill development programs.
Your profile:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in transmission or electrified powertrain calibration.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle drivability fundamentals and powertrain control systems.
- Prior experience with CVT shift strategy or DCT clutch control calibration is highly preferred.
- Experience using automotive calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, or similar.
- Good understanding of vehicle networks (CAN, diagnostics, signals).
- Exposure to OEM / Tier-1 automotive development environments is highly preferred.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PERL, Java, or CAPL is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and debug software and hardware issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and passion for learning.
- Excellent team player with a desire to grow self, team, and organization.
- Eager to learn, adapt, and grow within the automotive software engineering field.
