Job Title: Calibration Engineer - Alternator

Responsible for supporting the calibration, validation, and release of alternator and electrical system parameters for diesel/gas generator set (genset) applications. The role involves working closely with controls, electrical, and testing teams to ensure reliable alternator performance, voltage regulation, load response, and system stability under various operating conditions. The engineer will assist in calibration activities, troubleshooting, validation testing, and technical documentation for production and field support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support calibration and tuning activities for genset alternators, AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator), and associated electrical control systems.
- Assist in developing calibration parameters for voltage control, frequency response, load sharing, and transient performance.
- Conduct validation and performance testing for alternator systems under different operating and environmental conditions.
- Analyze test data and support optimization of alternator performance, efficiency, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with Controls, Electrical, and Mechanical teams to ensure smooth integration of alternator hardware and control strategies.
- Support troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of alternator and electrical system issues observed during testing or field operation.
- Participate in commissioning and verification activities for genset electrical systems and interfaces.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including calibration reports, test procedures, validation records, and engineering change documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to calibration methods, testing processes, and product performance.
