Context
You will build and maintain Oracle VBCS applications and OIC integrations used in production Oracle ERP / Fusion Cloud environments.
The role mixes new development (60%) and production support + enhancements (40%), with direct interaction with functional and finance teams.
What You Will Do
- Translate business requirements into working VBCS apps and OIC integrations.
- Design and develop Oracle VBCS applications.
- OIC integrations (REST / SOAP).
- PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers.
- Build and maintain reporting : OTBI, BI Publisher (BIP).
- Smart View for Excel, Financial Reporting Center (FRC).
- Deliver code that runs in production ERP / Fusion Cloud environments.
Troubleshoot Performance And Data Issues
- SQL tuning.
- Integration failures.
- Reporting discrepancies.
Maintain Existing Applications
- Bug fixes.
- Data corrections.
- Minor functional enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews and refactor existing logic when needed.
In The First 90 Days
- Take ownership of at least one VBCS application in production.
- Deliver 23 enhancements or integrations without supervision.
- Resolve production incidents related to PL/SQL, reports, or OIC flows.
- Contribute code that passes review with 1 rework cycle.
This Role Is Not a Good Fit If
- You have only worked on proof-of-concept or demo Oracle apps.
- You avoid production support or data fixes.
- You rely mainly on functional consultants to define technical solutions.
- You have not worked with Oracle ERP / Fusion Cloud data models.
Required Background (non-negotiable)
- 4 to 10 years of software development experience.
- Hands-on experience as an Oracle VBCS and/or OIC Developer.
- Strong PL/SQL skills : Packages, procedures, functions, triggers.
- Experience with : REST / SOAP APIs, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
- OTBI, BI Publisher, Smart View, FRC.
- Exposure to Oracle ERP or Fusion Cloud (Finance modules preferred).
- Experience supporting live production applications.
Nice To Have (does Not Block Hiring)
- Oracle certifications or formal training.
- Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database.
- Deep PL/SQL internals (collections, cursors, exception handling).
