CAE Powertrain Durability Engineer
Area of Responsibility:
The CAE Engineer will be responsible to carry out automotive full vehicle durability analysis. He will be responsible for summarizing results and feedback conclusions to customers in an efficient manner. He is responsible for test correlation, issue resolution, customization, and new process development.
Job Requirements:
- Creation of CAE Models [System level / BIW / Full Vehicle]
- Ability to do Integration [Weld / Bolt / Adhesives etc., connections]
- Able to carry out BiW durability analysis using Optistruct and Abaqus based on DLC and RLD, Feedback to customer on performance and address issues
- Able to bolt force, SPR, FDS force analysis and suggest countermeasures to meet targets.
- Should have good knowledge on fatigue tools like nCode and be able to perform fatigue assessments.
- Able to create sub models, half models, quarter models etc to demonstrate sub system as well as full vehicle behaviour.
- Have an awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.
- Having experience in CAE TEST correlation projects add more advantage
- Have an awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.
- Able to do Closures FE modelling and connection, debug runs
- Minimum 6-10 years experience in automotive closures (Side doors, bonnet, tailgate & fender)
- Minimum experience in automotive-door trims CAE 4 to 6 years
- Able to carry out closures crash requirement like FMVSS 214, Knee impact, slam and luggage retention etc
- Able to carry out side doors oil canning, seal force, sag and drop analysis
- Added advantage - Taildoor vibration fatigue.
Essential:
- Must have 6-10 years experience in automotive full vehicle durability analysis mainly on BIW and Closures
- Tools skillset-Hyperworks, nCode, Abaqus, Optistruct NL, TCL/TK,
- Excellent communications skills, ability to communicate at all levels
- PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
