Job Description

Job Title: CAE Engineer / Analyst- Pedestrian Safety & Component Crash CAE

Background

i) Educational Qualification

Essential: BE / B Tech (preferably Mechanical)

Desirable: ME / M Tech (preferably Mechanical Design or equivalent)

ii) Experience

Minimum: 03 Maximum: 06

Job Role & Responsibilities:-

Role: Pedestrian Protection and Component Crash CAE Simulation & Evaluation

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full vehicle CAE models using HYPERMESH/ANSA/PRIMER - Mesh discretization, Assembly, Constraints & Load setting - for automotive sub-systems and components.
  • Component Strength and Pedestrian Safety CAE simulations using LS-DYNA software. Development of vehicle body structures and aggregates for Pedestrian protection & Component strength (SBA, ISOFIX, etc.,)
  • Model optimization and Robustness using Hyperstudy, LS-OPT etc.
  • Interpretation of results in LS-PrePost/ HyperView/ Hypergraph - comprehend failure modes and provide directions for countermeasures by performing parameter studies on the FEM model.
  • Report preparation and communication with stakeholders - design, testing - for implementation of countermeasures.
  • Interact with testing teams for analyzing failures, correlation of CAE results with physical testing and make improvements in CAE for better correlation.

Competency Requirements

Technical / Functional:

  • Strong knowledge of Strength of Materials, Theory of Elasticity/Plasticity, and Automotive Body, Sheet Metal, and Plastic Part Design.
  • Understanding of AIS Safety Regulations and NCAP protocols.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis and Hands-on experience in Pedestrian protection and component crash CAE simulations, including SBA, luggage retention, ISOFIX, and related safety performance evaluations.
  • Experience in Crash CAE model building and system-level simulations. Full-vehicle crashworthiness simulation expertise will be an added advantage.
  • Debug the CAE model for LS-Dyna environment, interpret the results, post process the deck and report to functional manager.
  • Proficiency in FEA result analysis, post-processing, and preparation of technical reports with design improvement recommendations.
  • Familiarity with physical testing and correlation of test conditions with CAE simulations.
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in CAE (preferred). Knowledge of automation scripting using Python and/or TCL.
