You will be working and supporting on a range of infrastructure schemes to independently develop engineering drawings in accordance with the relevant UK / MCHW series standards.
You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
You will be using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, NavisWorks and other engineering software for the production and development of drawings.
You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual.
Prepare models maintaining GG184 and uniclass layer standards.
Establish the link between multi-discipline drawings to understand the dependency and impact.
Perform peer checks and reviews of drawings
Bids and estimation support for CAD / BIM compliance output
Sound experience in multidisciplinary co-ordination with Navis models or any equivalent software
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
Ability to utilise AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation in adherence to defined CAD standards to develop layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
Sound knowledge in conversion process from MicroDrainage / CausewayFlow to Civil3D.
Checking of Draiange and Highway drawing deliverables
Preparation of check lists as per design standards for all proejcts
Ensure the quality process in place and adherence to audit requirements
Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers basic sketches to full working drawings
Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.
You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as HCD, and IAN 184.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform self check maintain the QC process.
Ability to understand the comments and how to address and link the impact with other drawings.
Basic knowlwdge about various DMRB standards.
Qualifications
Desired Skills
Knowledge of Civil 3D and Auto CAD, NavisWorks.
UK Highway Drainage project experience and knowledge of UK design standards is advantageous
Working knowledge on ProjectWise, BIM 360, Sharepoint.
Conversion process from MicroDrainage / CauseFlow files to Civil 2D layouts
Awareness on CAD QA process alongside ProjectWise, BIM 360 platforms
Qualifications And Experience
You will have a ITI or Diploma in Engineering level qualification in Civil Engineering
Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation user certification
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Highway drainage and Highway detailing
