Our Team

The Molex Connector Design team develops innovative solutions that power industrial automation, communication systems, and high-performance connectivity applications. We collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to design reliable products that meet customer needs and industry requirements.

As part of our Industrial Solutions business, you will contribute to the design and development of connectors for demanding industrial applications while supporting product innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.


What You Will Do


CAD Design & Product Development

  • Execute CAD design, 3D modeling, and drafting activities to support new product development and sustenance engineering projects.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation for connectors, cable assemblies, and networking products.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with Molex drawing standards and industry requirements.
  • Support product modifications, enhancements, and engineering change requests throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality design solutions aligned with business objectives.

Engineering Change Management

  • Prepare engineering change requests (ECRs), design change packages, mark-ups, and supporting documentation.
  • Follow established document control procedures to ensure accurate and timely release of engineering documentation.
  • Support engineering review activities by checking drawings and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in change management activities to maintain product quality, compliance, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all documentation updates are accurately reflected within engineering systems and processes.

Technical Documentation & Drawing Quality

  • Produce manufacturing-ready drawings utilizing accepted GD&T methodologies and engineering best practices.
  • Ensure engineering documentation meets quality standards, design requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Apply tolerance interpretation and basic stack-up analysis to support robust product designs.
  • Validate design documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.
  • Support design reviews and continuous improvement efforts focused on drawing and documentation quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, laboratory, sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to support project execution.
  • Provide engineering samples, technical guidance, and product information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to address product-related questions and technical requirements.
  • Support resolution of manufacturing, field, and customer-reported issues.
  • Contribute to global engineering initiatives and sustainment activities.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to product, manufacturing, and customer concerns.
  • Assist with disposition activities and engineering evaluations using measurement and validation data.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Support DFMEA activities and design risk mitigation efforts.
  • Leverage data and technical analysis to drive informed engineering decisions.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and global engineering teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with DFMEA concepts and corrective action processes.Experience supporting engineering change requests and document control activities.Knowledge of product development and engineering release processes.Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and basic tolerance stack-up analysis.Experience creating engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design software, preferably Siemens NX (UG NX).Experience working with connectors, wiring harnesses, automotive products, industrial products, or related electromechanical components.3+ years of experience in product development, product sustenance, or engineering change management.Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.Experience participating in design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering validation activities.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and design for manufacturability principles.Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and product sustaining activities.Exposure to Polarion or similar product lifecycle and requirements management tools.Experience working with Teamcenter PLM systems.Advanced expertise in Siemens NX for modeling, detailing, and drawing creation.Experience within Industrial Automation, Industrial Communication, Automotive, or related industries.Experience designing products involving plastic, sheet metal, cast, and plated components.
