Job Title: CAD Engineer
Job Description
Join our team as a CAD Engineer specializing in Chassis Structures. You will work independently or with minimal guidance to design and develop chassis systems, focusing on sheet metal and casting designs. Your role will involve concepting, packaging, and layout studies of chassis components, performing NX FEA analysis, and creating parametric 3D models and drawings. Additionally, you will prepare study documents using basic MS Office tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop chassis systems with a focus on sheet metal and casting designs.
- Perform concepting, packaging, and layout studies for chassis components.
- Conduct NX FEA analysis for chassis structures.
- Independently create parametric 3D models and produce drawings.
- Prepare study documents using basic MS Office tools.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or a relevant field.
- 1 to 6 years of experience in design and development of chassis systems.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal and casting designs.
- Proficiency in NX Modelling, NX Sheet Metal, and NX Casting.
- Experience with NX Nastran for desktop FEA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in commercial vehicle system applications.
- Basic understanding of automobiles and chassis systems.
- Experience in creating engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T from basic to advanced levels.
- Familiarity with DTNA specific processes such as Imacs documentation and release process, and install-drawings.
Work Environment
The role requires proficiency in using SMARAGD, NX Modelling, NX Sheet Metal, and NX Casting tools. The ideal candidate should be able to start immediately or within 60 days. The work environment is dynamic, focusing on innovative design and development of chassis systems, with opportunities to work independently on challenging projects.
