We're Hiring: CAD Design Engineer

Full-Time | Core Team

LAT Aerospace | STOL Aircraft

At LAT Aerospace, we're building a clean-sheet Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) aircraft to transform regional air mobility in India. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Design Engineer with a minimum of two years of professional experience in CAD design. This role involves translating engineering specifications into detailed 3D models and 2D drawings that meet design requirements and are optimized for efficient production.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using various industrial CAD software.
  • Apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to ensure models are optimized for cost-effective and efficient production methods.
  • Create complex CAD assemblies, performing interference checks and ensuring proper fit and function of all components.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and manufacturing teams to refine designs based on feasibility, performance, and cost constraints.
  • Prepare and manage engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and specification sheets.
  • Ensure all designs and drawings comply with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise and support to project teams.
  • Manage and organize CAD files and data within the company's Product Data Management (PDM) system.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a CAD Design Engineer or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in detailed CAD design, assembly, and drafting.
  • Proven proficiency with multiple industrial CAD software packages (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo).
  • Expertise in CAD Assembly techniques, including managing complex assemblies with thousands of parts.
  • Strong understanding and application of CAD Design for Manufacturing (DFM), including knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards (ASME Y14.5).

Bonus Skill: Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems.
