Role Description The Cad Design Automation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. This role involves developing and maintaining CAD automation tools, configurators, and custom plugins on platforms such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit. Daily responsibilities include interpreting engineering requirements, creating parametric models, integrating automation with existing CAD workflows, and validating outputs such as drawings and BOMs. The engineer collaborates with design, manufacturing, and software teams to translate manual design processes into robust automated solutions, ensuring accuracy, usability, and performance. The role also includes troubleshooting automation issues, optimizing scripts and APIs, and contributing to documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of CAD automation projects.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to understand and optimize engineering workflows.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit, including parametric and model-based design.
  • Ability to read, create, and validate Engineering Drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy, manufacturing feasibility, and standards compliance.
  • Experience in Product Design, including translating requirements into practical designs and supporting configuration and customization.
  • Familiarity with CAD APIs, scripting, or programming (e.g., .NET, C#, VBA, or similar) for automation and plugin development is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with attention to detail and quality.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems, ERP integration, or engineering calculations automation is an added advantage.
