Hi All,
Please find below JD:
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Data Engineer to manage, cleanse, and standardize CAD models and associated metadata within the PTC Creo and Windchill ecosystem. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality, reusable CAD data aligned with PLM standards, enabling efficient product development across multiple factories and programs.
Experience Range: 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in CAD/PLM environments, preferably with PTC Creo and Windchill.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Classify CAD models (standard parts, templates, skeletons, layout/gathering models) and ensure proper categorization for reuse across products and manufacturing units.
- Ensure CAD models contain accurate and complete metadata aligned with PLM requirements and downstream consumption.
- Review attribute/parameter analysis outputs and apply necessary corrections to CAD models, including bulk updates using data extracts and automation tools.
- Resolve CAD model dependency issues by removing unused references and eliminating ghost objects, especially in shared library content.
- Simplify and maintain family tables to ensure correct instance usage and reduce maintenance complexity.
- Support Windchill check-in activities by resolving validation errors and ensuring alignment between CAD data and PLM structures.
- Collaborate with factory engineering and PLM teams to drive data quality, governance, and reuse strategies for standard parts and library content.
- Contribute to development of CAD/PLM standards, best practices, documentation, and user enablement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in PTC Creo (parts, assemblies, templates, and data modification).
- Working knowledge of Windchill, including metadata structures, validation, and check-in processes.
- Experience in CAD data cleanup, standard parts library management, and Engineering BOM practices within a PLM environment.
- High attention to detail with the ability to analyze and correct large volumes of CAD and metadata systematically.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and PLM teams.
Nice to Have:
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Creo Parametric Toolkit/API, Excel macros, map keys, batch utilities).
- Exposure to automation tools such as SIGMAXIM or similar for high-volume data processing.
Tools & Systems
- PTC Creo
- Windchill (WGM)
- SIGMAXIM (where applicable)
- CAD data analysis and reporting tools
- Microsoft Office / Excel for data handling and reporting
Key Competencies
- CAD data governance & standardization
- PLM integration and data alignment
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Process improvement and automation mindset
- Collaboration and stakeholder management
