The Creo CAD Administration & ModelCHECK Specialist is responsible for the design, support, and continuous improvement of CAD quality and compliance processes within the PTC Creo and Windchill environment. This role owns the Creo ModelCHECK framework, including configuration, deployment, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of CAD standards enforcement.
This position requires deep technical expertise in Creo ModelCHECK, strong understanding of CAD best practices, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, PLM, and IT teams to improve model quality and design efficiency.
Major Responsibilities
- Own and support Creo ModelCHECK configuration and execution across parts, assemblies, and drawings
- Configure and maintain ModelCHECK rules, start files, constants, and parameter checks aligned with CAD standards
- Integrate ModelCHECK with Windchill Gatekeeper to enforce CAD compliance at check-in
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot ModelCHECK failures and recurring compliance issues
- Partner with Engineering Leads to define, refine, and prioritize CAD standards and checks
- Support engineers in resolving ModelCHECK findings through hands-on troubleshooting and guidance
- Introduce and validate new ModelCHECK enhancements driven by Creo upgrades or evolving standards
- Develop and maintain documentation for CAD standards, ModelCHECK rules, and support procedures
- Develop and Deliver training and enablement sessions to improve first-time-right CAD modeling practices
- Participate in CAD/PLM upgrades, testing, and global standards harmonization initiatives
Education
- Associate's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or related field.
Work Experience
- 4 years experience in CAD administration, CAD support, or engineering systems roles
- Experience configuring & administering PTC Creo ModelCHECK in a production environment
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of CAD automation or scripting (Creo Toolkit, J-Link, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric (part, assembly, and drawing environments)
- Working knowledge of Windchill PLM, CAD document management concepts or Gatekeeper configuration
- Knowledge of CAD modeling best practices, standards, and quality principles
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex CAD and ModelCHECK issues
- Experience supporting global or multi-site engineering environments
- Experience using metrics or reporting related to CAD quality and compliance
