Overview:
Our client is a growing Australian cabinetry and manufacturing company specializing in custom cabinet production. They are seeking a Cabinet Vision Design & Drafting Specialist to serve as the design and pricing specialist who brings cabinet projects to life from concept to cost. Working remotely with full autonomy, you will use Cabinet Vision software to create functional, detailed cabinet designs that balance aesthetics with real-world functionality. You will take ownership of the entire process from initial design through material take-offs and pricing, ensuring every detail works in practice, not just on screen.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST | With flexibility for after-hours work
Responsibilities:
- Design and modify cabinet layouts using Cabinet Vision software with a focus on functionality and buildability
- Detail cabinet designs ensuring all measurements, hardware placements, and functional elements are accurate
- Generate material take-offs from Cabinet Vision and input cost data into Excel spreadsheets for customer pricing
- Evaluate designs for practical functionality, identifying potential issues with drawer placement, hardware, and cabinet operation
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently
- Maintain design files and documentation for ongoing and completed projects
- Adjust designs based on customer feedback while maintaining structural integrity and functionality
- Work flexibly with licensing availability to maximize drafting key utilization during after-hours when needed
Must-Have Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience using Cabinet Vision software
- Demonstrable portfolio showing previous cabinet design work and completed projects
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify functionality issues before production
- Understanding of cabinet construction, kitchen layouts, and how cabinetry functions in real-world applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic cost calculations
- Experience with Microsoft Access or similar database programs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with remote teams
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Background in cabinet making or joinery
- Studies in interior design or related disciplines
- Experience working with Australian cabinet standards and measurements
- Experience working remotely for international clients
