Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to take on the role of Finance Controller. This is a critical leadership role responsible for end-to-end financial management across both entities — including accounting, compliance, MIS, budgeting, and financial strategy support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional who can build robust financial systems and controls in a fast-growing, multi-entity business environment.

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Own end-to-end books of accounts , ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for both entities.
  • Consolidate financials across entities and present periodic MIS reports to leadership.
  • Ensure timely closure of books and adherence to accounting standards (Ind AS/GAAP as applicable)

Compliance & Statutory Requirements

  • Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings, and other statutory requirements for both entities.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities for audits and assessments.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and ensure zero-default statutory filing across both companies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting fleet management/transportation and related business operations.

Budgeting, Costing & Financial Planning

  • Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for both entities.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives in fleet operations by providing cost-per-unit, cost-per-km, and other operational finance metrics.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and flag variances to leadership with actionable insights.
  • Support pricing and contract evaluation for new business/route expansion from a financial feasibility standpoint.

Cash Flow, Treasury & Controls

  • Manage working capital, cash flow planning, and treasury operations across both entities.
  • Implement strong internal financial controls, approval workflows, and SOPs to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage banking relationships, fund flows, and any debt/credit facilities.
  • Oversee vendor payments, payroll processing, and reimbursements with appropriate controls.

Business Partnering & Leadership Support

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the founder/leadership team on business decisions, expansion plans, and investment evaluation.
  • Provide financial due diligence support for new city/business expansion initiatives.
  • Build and mentor a small finance/accounts team as the business scales.
  • Support fundraising, investor reporting, or bank/NBFC financing requirements as needed.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting, controllership, or a similar finance leadership role.
  • Experience handling multi-entity or group company finance is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliance requirements in India.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software/ERP systems (Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar).
  • Prior experience in logistics, fleet management, transportation, or asset-heavy businesses is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced startup/scale-up environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work closely with founders and cross-functional teams.
