CA Articled Assistant

Role Description The CA Articled Assistant will support Chartered Accountants in day-to-day accounting, audit, and tax-related work in a full-time, on-site role based in Mangaluru. Responsibilities include maintaining books of accounts, preparing working papers, assisting in statutory and tax audits, and supporting compliance activities such as GST, TDS, and income tax return filings. The role involves working on reconciliations, documentation, and data analysis for clients, as well as preparing reports and summaries for review by seniors. The Articled Assistant will also collaborate with team members on client communication, follow-up on information requirements, and contribute to process improvements and quality control.
Qualifications

• Enrollment as a CA Article under ICAI, with completion of required CA Intermediate level as per regulations.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting, including journal entries, ledgers, trial balance, and basic finalization.
• Knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, including GST, TDS, and income tax provisions, return filing, and basic compliance procedures.
• Familiarity with audit concepts, working papers, vouching, verification, and documentation for statutory and tax audits.
• Comfort with accounting and office software (e.g., Tally or similar ERP, MS Excel, Word, and basic spreadsheet analysis).
• Good analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with deadlines across multiple client assignments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a professional client-facing attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work on-site in Mangaluru, collaborate within a team, and maintain high ethical and confidentiality standards.
• Interest in HR, payroll, and business support processes is an added advantage; prior internship experience in CA or finance firms is beneficial.
