As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you'll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies-like machine learning and AI-to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

Job Requirements:

Extensive knowledge and experience in software development in C/C++ on Linux platforms.

. Familiarity with programmer tools of Linux.

. Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms.

. Experience working with multi-threaded application development.

. Strong background in software debug and problem solving.

. Hands on industry experience with Python, Perl, Bash or Shell scripting languages.

. Excellent verbal skills, required for providing direction and clear, concise guidance.

. Strong written communication skills and data/results analysis.

. Able to handle dynamic work environment with pressure and quick changes.

. Demonstrated skills in systematic problem solving and technical communication.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility to develop new features, implement new algo, developing new calibrations and maintenance of existing software.

  • You will be required to design, develop, test, and document software changes for new requirements, enhancements, and defects.

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software problems.

  • Have the ability and willingness to acquire in-depth understanding of domain and existing products (beyond software) and apply that knowledge to develop new products and to deliver enhancements/ fixes for customer requirements.

  • Contribute as part of teams put together to meet overall organization initiatives/objectives

Educational:

Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science/Information Science/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical
