Your role and responsibilities
You will be Responsible Determining the required materials and possibly generating purchase orders, ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite
This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification and Smart Power Division in Nelamangala, Bangalore.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Managed end-to-end material planning, procurement, and order management activities to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth production operations.
Coordinated with suppliers, manufacturing, operations, logistics, and SCM teams to align material supply with production schedules, customer requirements, and inventory targets.
Utilized MRP/ERP systems to maintain accurate material planning data, monitor Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity, and improve inventory accuracy and stock management.
Handled goods receipt, supplier follow-ups, import procurement activities, inbound logistics, and freight coordination to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve supply-related issues.
Identified process improvement opportunities, managed material shortages and inventory risks, and ensured compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or related functions.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software applications for reporting and analysis.
Basic understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and the types of goods/materials to be purchased.
Good methodological and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Ability to coordinate with operations, logistics, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution.
Detail-oriented professional with well-developed organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and process compliance.
