Business Systems Specialist
Job Summary
The Business Systems Specialist is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and optimizing business applications and systems to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring systems align with business needs and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Systems Analysis
- Analyze business processes and identify system improvements or automation opportunities
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements or replacements
System Implementation & Support
- Configure, test, and support business systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, financial, or custom applications)
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and integrations
- Provide Level 2/3 application support and troubleshoot system issues
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors
- Facilitate workshops, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training sessions
- Ensure solutions meet user needs and compliance requirements
Data & Reporting
- Maintain system data integrity and governance standards
- Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making
- Assist with data migration, validation, and reconciliation
Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and process flows
- Support change management and release management activities
- Ensure adherence to security, audit, and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in business systems, business analysis, or application support
- Experience working with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, finance systems)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
