Job Description

Job Purpose:

To deliver high-quality teaching in Business Studies across the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), fostering analytical thinking, real-world application, and strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Business Studies for IGCSE and IBDP students.
  • Teach core topics such as business organization, marketing, finance, operations, and human resources.
  • Develop inquiry-based and student-centered learning aligned with IB philosophy.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Curriculum Planning
  • Design and implement schemes of work in line with Cambridge (IGCSE) and IB (DP) frameworks.
  • Integrate case studies, real-world business scenarios, and current economic trends.
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments.
Assessment & Evaluation
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments as per IGCSE and IB guidelines.
  • Support students in Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and exam preparation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
Student Support & Mentoring
  • Guide students in academic and career pathways related to business and management.
  • Provide additional support to students needing academic improvement.
  • Encourage critical thinking, research, and presentation skills.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
  • Stay updated with curriculum changes in IGCSE and IB.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching IGCSE and/or IBDP Business Studies.
  • Experience with IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essay supervision (preferred).

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge and IB curriculum frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching.
  • Strong organizational and assessment skills.
