Job Description

About the opportunity

We are building something new inside the house that built Rare Rabbit + Rareism.

The category stays under wraps for now. What we can share: it is a premium consumer product, it is being built from the ground up, and the brand and creative foundations are already in place. The distribution, the customer base, and the retail infrastructure of the group are behind it from day one.

What are looking for the person who turns helps in driving the business. That is this role.

What you will own

  • The P&L. Revenue planning, cost and margin management, and monthly reporting for the vertical. You are accountable for the numbers, and you will have the authority that comes with that.

  • Offline channel operations. Retail execution across our owned store network: allocation, replenishment, stock management, visual merchandising coordination, and sell-through tracking. Every counter should run as a profit centre.

  • Online channel operations. D2C website operations and marketplace management. Listings, pricing execution, fulfilment, returns, and channel-level P&L tracking.

  • Commercial planning. Demand forecasting, assortment planning across SKUs and formats, pricing implementation, the promotional calendar, and seasonal planning. Translating brand strategy into a commercial plan with clear unit economics.

  • Business development. Evaluating and opening new channels: department stores, travel retail, gifting partnerships, and B2B. Building relationships with buyers and channel partners.

  • Supply chain coordination. Working with manufacturing and vendor partners on production timelines, inventory levels, and order planning. Full supply chain ownership is not required, but comfort with vendors, lead times, and MOQs is.

Who does well here

You have 5 to 10 years across the strategic and operational sides of a consumer business, with real depth in at least three of the areas above and the appetite to learn the rest.

  • P&L fluency. You have owned or directly contributed to a category or vertical P&L. You understand how revenue, COGS, channel costs, and EBITDA relate, and you can build and defend a financial plan.

  • Channel depth. You have run either online (D2C, marketplace) or offline (owned retail, MBO, LFS) operations properly. You are willing and able to learn the other.

  • Commercial instinct. You think in sell-through rates, inventory turns, and contribution margins, and you can turn a brand idea into an assortment, a price, and a plan

  • Premium sensibility. You understand what operating in a premium context demands. Pricing integrity, presentation, and customer experience hold even under commercial pressure. Discounting is not your reflex.

  • Independent operation. You are comfortable with minimal team and infrastructure in the early phase, building processes rather than inheriting them.

Helpful Plus Points:

  • Experience at or with premium or luxury brands, in any consumer category

  • Time spent in high-velocity consumer categories: FMCG, personal care, home care, or adjacent spaces where repeat purchase is the business

  • Familiarity with the operating rhythm those categories demand: shelf life and batch-level planning, sampling-led trial, gifting seasonality, and regulated labelling

  • Exposure to sourcing, vendor management, or production planning: the rhythm of getting a physical product to shelf

  • Omnichannel experience, and a feel for how the economics differ across channels

How the work divides

  • Brand, creative, and product direction sit with the founding team. This role owns the business built around them, and the two work side by side.

  • It is a builder's seat, not an advisory one. Vendor negotiations, inventory calls, and the day's operational problems land on this desk, and that is the point. If premium positioning feels like a constraint rather than the foundation, this will not be the right home.

  • For the right person, this is a business to build and run as your own, inside a group with the infrastructure to back it.
