Business Value Manager - Finance Transformation Value Architect (Business + Technology)

Role Summary
The Finance Transformation Value Architect is a senior, client‑facing consulting role responsible for shaping and governing end‑to‑end Finance transformations. The role combines deep Finance process understanding, business consulting skills, and practical SAP S/4HANA FICO knowledge to ensure technology enables measurable business outcomes, not just system delivery.
This role serves as the bridge between Finance leadership and technology teams, owning value definition, process design, solution direction, and adoption across core Finance domains.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Value Leadership
- Partner with CFOs, Controllers, and Finance leaders to understand strategic priorities, pain points, and value drivers
- Define Finance transformation vision, target operating model, and value roadmap
- Translate business objectives into optimized processes, KPIs, and measurable outcomes
- Drive value realization across cost, efficiency, compliance, working capital, and margins
2. End‑to‑End Finance Process Design
- Lead process discovery, fit‑gap, and redesign across Finance
- Design future‑state processes covering:
- Financial Accounting & Closing
- Management Accounting & Margin Analysis
- Asset Lifecycle & Capital Accounting
- Cash, Banking & Tax processes
- Ensure processes are standardized, scalable, compliant, and insight‑driven
3. Solution Direction & Architecture Oversight
- Provide solution direction and design governance, leveraging SAP S/4HANA Finance capabilities
- Translate business needs into clear solution principles and high‑level designs
- Guide SAP FICO solution decisions without being configuration‑centric
- Ensure alignment of process, data, integrations, and reporting
4. Business–Technology Bridging
- Act as a single point of alignment between business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams
- Communicate technology design in business language
- Ensure solutions enable:
- Faster close cycles
- Real‑time financial insights
- Strong controls and audit readiness
- Integrated enterprise processes
5. Delivery Governance & Adoption
- Provide design authority and governance during implementation
- Support testing, cutover, and go‑live from a business outcomes perspective
- Drive change management, adoption, and continuous improvement
- Ensure delivered solutions are used, adopted, and value‑accretive
Required Experience & Profile
- 8–12+ years in Finance transformation, consulting, or solution leadership roles
- Strong Finance process expertise with hands‑on exposure to SAP S/4HANA FICO
- Proven experience acting as a Business + Technology bridge
- Solid understanding of:
- Financial accounting and controlling concepts
- Closing, reporting, and governance processes
- Cross‑functional integration (Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, HR)
- Comfortable engaging at CXO / Finance leadership level
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP S/4HANA Finance training or certification
- Experience with Central Finance (CFIN)
- Exposure to Treasury, Group Reporting, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
- Retail industry experience preferred
Role Positioning
This is a Finance Value Architect and senior advisor role, not a pure SAP delivery position. Success is measured by business impact, Finance maturity uplift, and sustained value realization, with SAP acting as a key enabling platform.
