ProAnalyst is a growing startup offering niche Data & AI solutions for global clients. We're currently supporting projects across BigQuery, Azure SQL, Looker, Tableau, and Sales Analytics — and expanding into open-source tools like Superset and Klipfolio. We're looking to enhance our capabilities, specifically around Power BI, to deliver even more impactful insights.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced BI solutions, dashboards, and data models. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to transform complex datasets into actionable business insights. This role requires strong technical expertise, ownership mindset, and the ability to drive end-to-end BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced, interactive dashboards and reports aligned with business objectives.
• Connect to multiple data sources (e.g., BigQuery, Azure SQL, APIs, Excel) and perform data transformation.
• Build and optimize robust data models for performance and scalability.
• Write complex SQL queries and optimize them for efficiency.
• Develop and maintain calculated fields, measures, and KPIs using DAX or equivalent.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all BI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights-driven solutions.
• Take ownership of BI projects from requirement gathering to deployment.
• Support internal analytics such as sales tracking, performance dashboards, and reporting.

Ideal Candidate 

• 2 – 6 years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics roles.
• Strong expertise in Power BI (or similar BI tools like Tableau, Looker).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (BigQuery, Azure SQL, or other databases).
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
• Experience in dashboard performance optimization and large dataset handling.
• Familiarity with DAX or equivalent calculation languages.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a problem-solving mindset.

Bonus:

• Experience with Python for data processing or automation.
• Exposure to modern data stacks or cloud environments.

Interview Process

• Round 1: Online Assessment

Evaluation of SQL, BI fundamentals, and basic data modeling concepts.

• Round 2: Dashboard Creation

Hands-on task to build a dashboard; assessed on data modeling, visualization, and insights.

• Round 3: Technical Round

Deep dive into BI development, SQL, performance optimization, and real-world scenarios.

• Round 4: Founder's Round

Focus on ownership, problem-solving ability, and cultural fit.

Note: All rounds will be conducted offline at the office.

Knowledge Requirement:

Data Engineering - 50%

Data Visualisation / BI - 40%

Basic Data Science ML understanding - 10%
