Bachatt is a young Indian fintech startup founded by 3 friends from IIT/IIM with 10+ years of

relevant experience ( https://bachatt.app). Bachatt provides a savings and investment platform to specifically target over 30 crore self-employed individuals in India, who find mutual funds and investment platforms daunting.

Bachatt is on a mission to bring over 30 crore Indians to invest in mutual funds, and generate wealth beyond the usual instruments of FDs and Post Office schemes.

Further, the vision is to empower them to access the full suite of financial products like loans, insurance and credit cards, in a simplified and curated experience, like an offline insurance or mutual fund agent provides them.

The company was founded in November 2024 and raised over $15 million in two rounds of funding, by leading marquee investors of the likes of Lightspeed Venture Partners, Info Edge Ventures and others.

Role Hiring for: Business Head, Wealth and Mutual Funds

Bachatt has acquired over 3 million customers in a short span of 9 months and is now looking to acquire millions more in the next 6 months. Over the past 6 months, Bachatt has also built an unparalleled capability to advise on mutual funds and manage end-to-end wealth for individuals, leveraging its proprietary AI pipeline.

This presents a significant opportunity to grow the mutual funds business by evolving from an SIP-focused platform to a full-stack wealth platform. You will have the opportunity to scale the current business from hundreds of crores in AUM to thousands of crores within the next year.

You will work closely with engineering, data, risk, operations, and business teams to build scalable, compliant, and high-performing lending products. You will plan and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle across underwriting, credit decisioning, loan servicing, repayments, mandates, partner integrations, and compliance-driven workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy & P&L Ownership

  • Define mutual fund distribution strategy aligned with Bachatt's vision
  • Identify target investor segments (retail, HNI, SIP-focused, long-term investors, etc.)
  • Own MF business P&L, revenue targets (trail & upfront commissions), and profitability roadmap
  • Build revenue forecasting models and long-term scaling plan
  • Identify opportunities across direct, regular, and advisory-led models

2. Mutual Fund Product & Platform Development

  • Design and scale MF investment offerings (SIP, Lumpsum, STP, SWP, goal-based investing)
  • Curate fund baskets (equity, debt, hybrid, thematic, tax-saving ELSS)
  • Develop asset allocation frameworks and model portfolios
  • Work with tech teams to build seamless digital investment journeys
  • Optimize onboarding, KYC, mandate setup, and transaction flow

3. Compliance & Risk Governance

  • Ensure compliance with SEBI & AMFI regulations
  • Maintain distributor ARN compliance and audit standards
  • Monitor portfolio risk metrics (volatility, drawdown, category allocation exposure)
  • Establish suitability and risk profiling frameworks
  • Ensure transparency in expense ratios, disclosures, and investor communication

4. Distribution & Growth

  • Build and scale sourcing channels (digital acquisition, partnerships, referral networks, advisors)
  • Establish partnerships with AMCs and distribution platforms
  • Optimize CAC, activation rate, and SIP persistence ratios
  • Drive AUM growth while maintaining healthy churn and retention levels
  • Launch investor education and engagement initiatives

5. Operations & Execution

  • Set up end-to-end mutual fund operations (order processing, reconciliation, reporting)
  • Implement scalable SOPs for transactions and customer support
  • Define KPIs: AUM growth, SIP book size, redemption ratio, revenue yield
  • Build dashboards for real-time business tracking
  • Continuously improve TAT, customer experience, and operational efficiency

Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of experience in lending, fintech, NBFC, or banking
  • Proven experience in building or scaling a lending vertical
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, underwriting, and collections
  • Experience owning or managing P&L
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capability
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on approach
