Function Overview
The Finance organization partners across General Mills to provide financial expertise to guide and govern the company. We bring a distinctive skill set to help the company sustainably drive strong returns on investment, whether that's brand investments, capital investments or resource investments. The Finance function operates as a global team through the partnership of a series of enterprise-focused and business-embedded groups.
Purpose of the role
This role provides critical leadership in the areas of capital investment, accounting and controls and financial reporting. This role provides cross-functional exposure as well as the opportunity to develop global business partnership skills while working to continuously improve global capital processes, controls, and reporting. This role will work closely with functional business partners and the Global Capital Team in managing and executing capital projects. There is opportunity for this role to evolve over time as the initial work becomes more efficient and we continue to transform and evolve.
The Financial Analyst will be focusing on analytics, reporting, forecast accuracy and establishing standardization. This individual will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Finance function through stronger analytics, financial modelling, and establishing a foundation for standardization.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the capital investment budgeting, tracking & analysis to deliver the annual capital plan
- Provide accounting & controls leadership to functional business partners
- Policy interpretation & guidance to ITQ Engineers
- Capital Project Life-Cycle guidance to ITQ Engineers
- Facilitate Annual ITQ Fixed Asset Audit with ITQ Engineers
- Develop Depreciation and Project Expense forecast for ITQ Capital projects
- Influence process & controls improvements if necessary with Global Capital Team
- Provide guidance and issue resolution during the capital project lifecycle
- Support business partners on capital prioritization and approval recommendations
- Contribute to other ad hoc projects as needed
- Support projects and work in tandem with Global Admin team around plan, forecasting and reporting
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
- 3-5 years of professional experience with some accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Able to identify and extract the right data from financial systems to provide meaningful analysis
- High sense of urgency; ability to be proactive, respond quickly, and hit deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively

- Understands the business needs, being proactive with initiative mindset to think and define process requirements process
- Able to shift priorities quickly when necessary
- Process oriented with focus on consistency and integrity
- Transition experience will be an added benefit
- Professional Qualification: CA, MBA, PGDBA, MMS
