Purpose / Brief of the Role
The EBS Champion / Business Excellence Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the adoption and maturity of Elgi Business Systems (EBS)ELGi's internal Total Quality Management (TQM) frameworkacross the assigned function. The role acts as a catalyst for building a culture of structured problem solving, process excellence, and continuous improvement, enabling the organization to systematically raise its standards of operational excellence.
Working closely with functional leaders and the corporate EBS team, the EBS Champion ensures effective deployment of EBS tools, governance mechanisms, and improvement initiatives. By strengthening process discipline, enabling data-driven decision making, and developing organizational problem-solving capability, this role will significantly contribute to enhancing the company's EBS Maturity Score and advancing ELGi's journey toward achieving the Grand Deming Prize.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
EBS Deployment & Continuous Improvement
- Champion the implementation and adoption of EBS methodologies within the assigned function.
- Identify gaps through EBS maturity assessments and drive improvement initiatives to enhance process effectiveness.
Problem Solving & Process Excellence
- Guide teams in using structured problem-solving tools (RCA, CAPA, Kaizen, and advanced problem-solving methods).
- Identify chronic issues and lead cross-functional teams in resolving them using EBS methodologies.
Capability Building
- Act as a trainer and internal consultant for EBS tools and practices.
- Ensure employees achieve minimum EBS certification levels and build problem-solving capability within teams.
Governance, Reviews & Audits
- Facilitate EBS reviews, audits, and improvement reviews in collaboration with functional leaders.
- Maintain documentation, case studies, and knowledge repositories to institutionalize learning.
Digitalization & Data Systems
- Promote automation and digital capture of operational data to enable dashboards and data-driven reviews for EBS metrics.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed institution.
- 10 years of experience in the relevant functional domain.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with orientation toward process excellence.
- Experience in TQM, business excellence frameworks, or continuous improvement initiatives will be an advantage.
- Ability to influence teams, facilitate change, and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives.
