As the Business Development Manager Supervisor based in Bangalore (reporting to the Group Manager - PSBU), you will lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Associate Product Managers (APMs) to build a highquality, prioritized pipeline and improve opportunity conversion. You will drive disciplined earlystage feasibility, enforce qualification gates, and align crossfunctional partners to convert profitable, sustainable business opportunities.
Our Team
You will join the PSBU Business Development organization a customer-facing, cross-functional team that partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain. The team focuses on transforming customer needs into executable programs while protecting margin, schedule, and technical feasibility.
What You Will Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of BDMs and APMs (Associate Product Managers) to improve pipeline quality, execution discipline, and conversion outcomes.
- Govern the BD pipeline: prioritize opportunities, enforce earlystage feasibility checks (technical, commercial, operational, financial), and manage decision gates.
- Improve hit rates and shorten conversion cycles by instituting structured qualification, metrics, and regular pipeline reviews.
- Own commercial and financial discipline for opportunities ensure profitability, risk thresholds, and return criteria are met before commitment.
- Strengthen customer relationships and support strategic negotiations, positioning the team as trusted commercial and technical partners.
- Drive crossfunctional alignment to translate customer requirements into validated execution plans and smooth program launches.
- Monitor KPIs (pipeline quality, conversion rate, revenue/margin realization) and implement continuous improvements to BD processes.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of business development / commercial experience in electrical, electronics, electromechanical, or EMS industries.
- Proven experience supervising or leading a BD or commercial team.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
- Track record of structured opportunity qualification and crossfunctional collaboration.
What Will Put You Ahead
- MBA or advanced business qualification.
- Direct experience in cable assembly / cable harness sales or related product lines.
- Demonstrated success improving pipeline metrics (hit rate, conversion time, margin realization).
- Experience with program launches, costing/quoting processes, and negotiating commercial terms.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with handson execution discipline and peopledevelopment experience.
