Field Growth Specialist
We are looking for a Field Growth Specialist to represent StepOne on-ground, driving direct access to brands and building high-quality pipelines for the central BD team. In this role, you will attend key industry events, engage with decision-makers, and generate qualified opportunities. This is a high-ownership, field-driven role designed for someone who is proactive, relationship-oriented, and comfortable operating in fast-moving, real-world environments, with a clear path to building and leading zone-level business development as the company scales.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Attend exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and industry events to identify and engage with key decision-makers across brands, through direct, in-person conversations., not cold email.
- Build a strong, growing network of relevant contacts across the city's corporate events circuit, including venue professionals, event organiser communities, and industry connectors.
- Nurture conversations through structured, value-led communication until they are ready to be handed to the BD Executive for conversion.
- Maintain a clear, current view of every active prospect in the CRM at all times.
- Collaborate closely with the central BD team to share market intelligence.
- Maintain structured weekly reporting on field activity, pipeline generated, and key market insights
- Serve as the local point of contact for supporting venue coordination, vendor management, and on-ground logistics under the direction of the Mumbai operations team, when required.
- Conduct venue recce and submit structured reports, when required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience and Background
- 2 to 4 years in business development, field sales, brand activation, events, hospitality sales, or client servicing. Candidates with direct experience engaging corporate brands at industry events are strongly preferred.
- An existing network of brand, marketing, or events contacts in the city is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with the city's corporate events landscape- the venues, the major exhibitions, the industry circles, and the brands that are consistently present.
- Strong spoken and written communication in English.
- Comfort with CRM tools, WhatsApp Business, LinkedIn, and basic digital research. Willingness to adopt AI-assisted tools as they are introduced into the team's workflow.
- Own transport or readiness to use one. This role requires regular movement across your city and dependence on public transport alone will limit effectiveness.
