Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Business Development Director to lead international expansion, with a primary focus on the US and EMEA markets. The role involves defining and executing go-to-market strategies, acquiring new logos, scaling client relationships, and driving revenue growth in the KPO and financial services domain. This position requires an experienced professional who can combine consultative selling with strategic account development and operational alignment with India-based delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Market Expansion

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across financial services, consulting firms, corporates, and related sectors in the US and EMEA
  • Prioritize high-value segments and craft market entry strategies aligned with internal capabilities

Client Acquisition & Account Management

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, converting leads into long-term clients
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, solutioning, proposals, commercials, SOWs, negotiations, and deal closure
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities, positioning the organization as a strategic partner

Consultative Selling & Solution Design

  • Engage with CEOs and senior decision-makers to understand business needs and design tailored outsourcing or knowledge services solutions
  • Handle client objections effectively and articulate clear value propositions

Strategic Partnerships & Thought Leadership

  • Develop and nurture senior stakeholder relationships to drive multi-year engagements
  • Represent the organization at global industry events, webinars, and forums to enhance brand visibility and credibility

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Alignment

  • Partner with delivery, marketing, legal, and operations teams to ensure compliant, competitive proposals and smooth client onboarding
  • Coordinate across India-based teams and multi-time-zone operations to ensure alignment and client satisfaction

Revenue Growth & Performance

  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets through disciplined pipeline management and account expansion

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 10+ years in business development or sales in KPO, financial research, analytics, or related domains
  • Proven track record of closing USD 510M+ in annual new-logo revenue
  • Experience in offshoring models, structured finance, capital markets data workflows, ESG data operations, or middle/front-office research

Network & Domain Expertise

  • Established CXO and Head-of-Operations relationships in banks, asset managers, rating agencies, consulting firms, or Fortune 1000 corporates in the US and EMEA
  • Strong understanding of financial services, consulting, and ESG-focused organizations

Education & Certifications

  • MBA or Master's in Finance, Economics, or Analytics preferred
  • CFA, CAIA, FRM, or equivalent certifications are a plus

Preferred Extras

  • Experience setting up greenfield sales operations or scaling boutique KPO firms in North America
  • Exposure to Gen-AI or LLM applications in financial research or data operations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of acquiring new accounts and scaling client relationships

Operational Expectations

  • India-based with time-zone alignment to US East and Central regions
  • Remote engagement using digital channels (email, LinkedIn, video conferencing)
  • Occasional international travel for client meetings and industry events
