Job Summary

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth for the organization. The role involves generating leads, meeting prospective clients, preparing business proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with a passion for achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Generate qualified leads and convert them into long-term business relationships.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product/service demonstrations.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms within company guidelines.
  • Develop strategies to increase revenue and expand the customer base.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand client requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups and prompt issue resolution.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and recommend growth strategies.
  • Gather customer feedback and provide insights to management.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with operations and other internal departments to ensure smooth execution of client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities in the CRM or reporting system.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates.

Target Achievement

  • Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.
  • Meet KPIs related to client acquisition, business retention, and revenue generation.
  • Participate in exhibitions, networking events, and promotional activities to enhance business visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • MBA in Marketing or Sales is preferred.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Corporate Sales.
  • Experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, or service industry will be an added advantage.
