Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of the company's product portfolio of electronic components. This includes identifying new market opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, expanding client relationships, and increasing the revenue stream. The successful candidate will leverage deep market knowledge and sales acumen to understand customer needs and align them with company offerings.
About the Role
We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across Southeast Asia for our electronic components portfolio. You will identify new opportunities, win and develop strategic accounts, build strong channel and customer relationships, and translate market insight into sustainable revenue and margin growth. This role is ideal for a self-directed sales professional with strong industry knowledge, an established regional network, and a track record of closing complex B2B opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market development and strategy
- Analyse market trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and white-space opportunities across Southeast Asia.
- Develop and execute country and account plans that expand market coverage and support profitable growth.
2. New business and account growth
- Prospect, qualify, and convert new customers in priority industries and markets.
- Build trusted relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams and channel partners.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying new programmes and cross-selling opportunities.
3. Sales execution
- Own the sales cycle from opportunity identification and solution positioning through quotation, negotiation, and closing.
- Deliver agreed revenue, gross-margin, pipeline, and customer-acquisition targets.
- Present the company's value proposition and product portfolio clearly to customers and partners.
4. Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with regional headquarters, product management, customer service and other stakeholders to deliver responsive solutions.
- ·Coordinate commercial and operational requirements with stakeholders to successful launch of new programs.
5 Strategic partnerships
- Develop productive relationships with key accounts, distributors, and other industry stakeholders.
- Identify new routes to market, alliance opportunities, and business channels that strengthen market share.
6. Pipeline management and reporting
- Maintain accurate opportunity, forecast, and account information and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Monitor performance against targets and share actionable insights on market conditions, customer activity, and competitors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, business, or a related discipline.
- Five to ten years of business development, sales, or distribution experience in the electronic components industry.
- Demonstrated success in winning new business, developing strategic accounts, and delivering revenue and margin growth.
- Strong understanding of the Southeast Asian market and willingness to travel within the region.
- Experience in the interconnect, passive, and electromechanical (IP&E) segment, with an established industry network, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability, and working knowledge of CRM and sales-forecasting practices.
