Sunshine is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth of its surfactants portfolio (Oleo Chemicals) within the Home & Personal Care (HPC) industry. The role focuses on expanding market presence, developing strategic customer partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities aligned with BASF's innovation-driven and sustainability-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies for surfactants used in Home & Personal Care applications (detergents, cleaners, personal wash, hair care, etc.)
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, key accounts, and emerging market segments
- Manage and grow relationships with HPC manufacturers and formulators.
- Work closely with technical, marketing, and supply chain teams to deliver customized customer solutions
- Drive sales growth, pricing strategy, and margin optimization in line with business targets
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions
- Lead customer negotiations, contracts, and long-term partnership agreements
- Support product launches and promote BASF's sustainable and innovative surfactant solutions
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports for management
Key Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 25 years of experience in surfactants, specialty chemicals, or Home & Personal Care ingredients.
- Strong understanding of HPC formulations and applications.
- Proven track record in business development, key account management, or sales
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, matrix organization
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel as required
