Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for growing service and spares revenue, onboarding fleet customers, expanding corporate and institutional accounts, and increasing workshop utilization for an Ashok Leyland M&HCV authorized service and spares dealership in Hyderabad. This role requires strong fleet relationship skills, field visits, and daily physical presence at the office and workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth Spares & Service
- Drive revenue growth for service labour, spare parts, AMC, and repair contracts.
- Increase workshop load by onboarding fleet operators, transporters, and corporate customers.
- Promote preventive maintenance, AMCs, and annual service contracts to fleet owners.
- Upsell high-margin spares, overhauls, and value-added services.
Fleet & Corporate Customer Acquisition
- Identify and onboard fleet operators, logistics companies, transporters, and construction fleets.
- Build long-term relationships with fleet owners, procurement heads, and operations managers.
- Pitch service cost savings, uptime improvements, and fast turnaround advantages.
- Convert inactive or competitor-serviced fleets to your workshop.
Workshop Utilization & Retention
- Improve service bay utilization and repeat visit rate.
- Reduce customer churn by strengthening engagement and follow-ups.
- Track vehicle service cycles and proactively bring customers back.
- Coordinate with service advisors to improve customer satisfaction.
Field Sales & Market Expansion
- Conduct regular field visits to fleet yards, transport hubs, and industrial areas in Hyderabad and nearby regions.
- Identify new business pockets in logistics, mining, infrastructure, and municipal sectors.
- Monitor competitor workshops, pricing, and offers.
Pricing, Negotiation & Deal Closure
- Negotiate fleet service rates, discounts, and contract pricing.
- Close bulk spare part supply agreements with large customers.
- Prepare customized service proposals for high-value accounts.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain a strong relationship with key accounts.
- Resolve service-related escalations in coordination with workshop teams.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat revenue.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipelines.
Coordination with Internal Teams
- Work closely with service managers, spare parts team, and workshop supervisors.
- Provide feedback on common failures, demand trends, and parts stocking.
- Support marketing campaigns, service camps, and fleet engagement events.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track daily visits, customer meetings, and revenue pipeline.
- Report monthly revenue targets for service and spares.
- Analyze customer profitability and growth potential.

Required Skills & Experience
- 37 years experience in automotive service sales, CV workshops, fleet sales, or B2B automotive
- Strong understanding of M&HCV service, spares, maintenance cycles, and fleet operations
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
- Comfortable with field sales + daily office presence in Hyderabad
- Data tracking, CRM usage, Excel reporting skills
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and street-smart in fleet sales
Education & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in Ashok Leyland / Tata / BharatBenz / Volvo / CV service ecosystem is a plus
- Must have 2-wheeler or car and valid driving license
- Mandatory physical presence at office/workshop in Hyderabad
Compensation Structure
- Fixed Salary: 35,000 80,000 per month (depending on experience)
- Performance Incentives: Revenue-based commission on service & spares growth
- Fuel Allowance + Phone Reimbursement
