ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind the client's brand's physical expansion and market presence across the retail landscape.

Your mission is to identify high-potential growth opportunities, scout prime locations, and build strategic partnerships that bring client's legendary food flavors to more neighborhoods.

This role is critical to the growth trajectory, as you will directly impact the revenue and distribution reach by securing the best assets and managing their transition from site selection to successful opening.

ROLE DETAILS:

  • Role: Business Development Manager

  • Experience Required: 3 to 6+ years

  • Compensation: 8 to 12 LPA

  • Client's Industry: Food & Beverage (F&B) | 30+ years in existence, 250+ crore in revenue

  • Location: Bengaluru

  • Travel Requirements: Travel required across Bengaluru city and newer cities/markets

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Work Arrangement: Work from Office (WFO)

  • Working Days: Mon-Sat

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Market Expansion & Revenue Growth

  • Identify new retail business opportunities, untapped markets, and potential customer segments to fuel brand growth.

  • Scout and identify new locations for retail outlets that align with the brand's standard site requirements.

  • Develop and execute aggressive business development strategies to meet and exceed sales and growth targets.

  • Support large-scale expansion initiatives, including new store openings and the identification of potential new cities for entry.

  • Take ownership of revenue growth by successfully adding new locations and acquiring a target number of new retail accounts.

2. Strategic Partnerships & Negotiations

  • Negotiate commercial terms and manage the closure of contracts with Landlords and Builders to ensure favorable business conditions.

  • Build and strengthen long-term strategic relationships with landowners, developers, and key stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary bridge between the brand and external partners to ensure smooth collaboration and market expansion.

  • Analyse competitor activities, market trends, and consumer behaviour to position the brand effectively against competitors.

3. Operational Planning & Asset Management

  • Manage the handover of retail assets to the Projects Team and coordinate interior work between the Projects team and builders.

  • Perform constant monitoring of assets after outlet opening to ensure they meet operational and brand standards.

  • Prepare detailed business proposals, growth forecasts, and performance reports for leadership review.

  • Track and report on vital business metrics, including margins, distribution reach, and sell-through performance.

  • Ensure all expansion activities comply with company policies and established retail partner standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

a) Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

  • 36 years of proven experience in business development or sales within the Retail, FMCG, or Consumer Goods sectors.

  • A strong, fundamental understanding of retail operations and distribution channels.

b) Nice-to-Haves:

  • A background in Real Estate or property acquisition.

  • Prior experience specifically within the Food & Beverage industry.

c) Tools & Skills Required:

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills to close high-value deals.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities for pitching to stakeholders.

  • A results-driven mindset with strong commercial acumen and financial awareness.

  • Ability to work independently in the field and cross-functionally with internal project teams.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

This role will report directly to the CEO, MD, Partners, and/or the key leadership team.
