Job Description

Role Overview:

This role focuses on technical sales and business development for Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Virtual Power Plants (VPP), and Grid Modernization solutions. The primary objective is to drive adoption of the Kalki.io DER Aggregator platform by engaging with utilities and energy aggregators, delivering technical demonstrations, and securing design-win opportunities through strong solutioning and customer engagement.

Experience & Qualification:

  • 510 years total experience, with at least 3+ years in energy technology, DERMS, or utility automation.
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Computer Science (MBA preferred).
  • Domain exposure to Smart Grids, Renewable Energy Integration, and Grid Edge technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Cloud/SaaS solutions for utilities.
  • Strong technical presentations, product demos, and RFP responses.
  • Knowledge of energy communication protocols such as IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR, and DNP3 (preferred).
  • Understanding of DERMS or VPP platforms and global grid standards like IEEE 1547 or California Rule 21.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discovery sessions and solution architecture discussions with customers.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Support the sales team in identifying design-win opportunities with utilities and energy aggregators.
  • Work closely with product teams to align product roadmap with market and customer needs.

Additional Advantage:

  • Experience working with US or European utility markets and familiarity with REST APIs for product customization discussions.
