Objectives
• Driving new account acquisition across Metrolab Precimech core target segments: hydraulic cylinder manufacturers, industrial machinery OEMs, automotive component buyers, and solar tracker / renewable energy equipment manufacturers
• Owning the sales & business development strategy for the India market not maintaining existing accounts, but building new ones
• Navigating multi-stakeholder customer organizations (Procurement, Supplier Quality Assurance, Design/Product Engineering, Plant/Operations) to move new accounts from first contact through vendor qualification to live purchase orders
• Building and managing a qualified pipeline against a defined target account list, with clear account-by-account prioritization and strategy
Principal Duties
• Identifying, approaching, and converting new accounts across the defined target segments, using existing industry networks and structured outreach
• Representing Metrolab Precimech technical capability credibly in front of engineering and quality stakeholders
• Reviewing customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs to shape technical and commercial proposals, working closely with plant and quality teams
• Coordinating with the plant and quality teams to ensure customer commitments on tolerances, capacity, and lead times are grounded in what the plant can actually deliver
• Leading supplier qualification processes with new customers viz. PPAP documentation, supplier audits, and onboarding onto customer Approved Vendor Lists (AVL)
• Negotiating commercial terms, pricing, and delivery commitments with customer procurement and sourcing teams
• Building and maintaining a qualified pipeline, with regular reporting on account status, deal stage, and market intelligence
• Traveling across India for client visits, plant tours, and account development as required
• Preparing tenders, quotations, and detailed technical-commercial proposals
• Achieving payment collection targets and maintaining account-level commercial discipline
Secondary Duties
• Coordinating with Purchase/Materials to ensure quoted lead times are backed by real material availability
• Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior sales engineers supporting RFQ execution and proposal preparation
• Contributing market and competitor intelligence to inform group-level business development strategy
Preferred (Not Required)
• Prior exposure to hydraulic cylinder manufacturing or solar tracker / renewable energy component supply chains specifically
• Experience selling into large industrial conglomerates or engineering groups, not only small/mid-size accounts
• Existing relationships with organizations such as L&T, ZF India, Schaeffler India, Bosch Rexroth India, Thermax, or Kirloskar Group
Note: a precision-components manufacturing background is mandatory for this role — general industrial sales experience without direct exposure to machined parts, castings, or comparable precision-engineered products will not be considered a fit.
